The Nikkei Matsuri was this past Sunday in San Jose’s Japantown as well as Yu-Ai Kai’s Nihonmachi Run.  For more information about the festival and where it was located click this link www.nikkeimatsuri.org

The Festival started in 1976 with America’s Bicentennial celebration when San Jose encouraged many ethnic communities to share their culture through festivals.  The Japanese American community here decided to share their culture through food and art which developed into a successful festival and is celebrating it’s 34th year.

Not only do Japanese People have perseverance and compassion but so do the animals.  In the video below this dog would not leave his injured friend after the Japan disaster.

The Japanese American Museum is one of the most interesting places to visit. After being closed for the past two years due to renovations, it is beautiful!
